Rules:

 

Only one drop bag is allowed at the checkpoint area, it will be in a pub, however we cannot guarantee it staying dry if we have to move it, so please wrap essentials in plastic.

You must have a phone, powerful headtorch, spare batteries, waterproof clothing, winter clothing and a space blanket. You must wear some Hi-Viz, especially at night. Please also bring some of your own personal food as we will only be providing snack type food. Cake, crisps, hot drinks, soup, biscuits, sandwiches etc. We will however provide a breakfast, lunch and dinner of basic meals (beans, soups, porridge). We will have water, but you must provide your own drinking container.

 

***Each runner must use their fob in timing boxes where indicated. Failure to do so will just mean you will run extra miles***

 

Runners deviating from the route or littering will be instantly disqualified.

Runners who have stopped for a time longer than 30 mins will be retired.

There are no internal cuts, but we will retire runners who will obviously not make the 48 hour deadline.

This is not a 'see how far you can get in 48 hrs race'

No headphones to be worn.

There is no shelter other than the pub. We expect you to stay awake and moving for the duration.

This is a NON-STOP event, in winter conditions.

Toilet facilities are available 24hrs.

No walking poles, this is a running event.

There are no UTMB points.

No entering or using a vehicle for your own personal checkpoint.

(The event will be cancelled only if weather conditions prevent us getting to the start)

 

 

NOTE: THIS EVENT IS ENTERED ENTIRELY AT YOUR OWN RISK. IF ANYONE CAN COMPLETE THIS EVENT IT WILL CERTAINLY REQUIRE EXCEPTIONAL ENDURANCE AND MOST IMPORTANTLY MENTAL STRENGTH. THERE IS NO MEDICAL BACKUP AND NO TRANSPORT TO OR FROM THE EVENT. WE WILL NOT HAVE WARM SHELTER, UNLESS IN AN EMERGENCY. IF YOU RETIRE YOU WILL GET COLD SO PACK PLENTY OF CLOTHES AND A SLEEPING BAG. WE RECOMMEND YOU SLEEP BEFORE YOU DRIVE HOME. WE ARE SIMPLY THERE TO PROVIDE REFRESHMENTS, TIMING, MORAL SUPPORT AND TO WATCH YOU SUFFER. COCKBAIN EVENTS IS AN EXTREME SERIES, HOWEVER EACH EVENT IS VERY LOW KEY AND  'FUN'. NOTE RULES AND TIMINGS MAY ALTER SLIGHTLY.
