I have been looking for an alternative place's to stage The Hill (hopefully it will return to Shining Tor one day).

For me repeatability and for it to be run-able are the key ingredients (this is an ultra!). Also the venue is important for atmosphere and there must be exposure to the elements.

The Hill will again go on tour for now. In 2018 we went to the Yorkshire Dales, but unfortunately the event was abandoned by the runners due to dangerous conditions.

The Hill on Tour will take place again in 2019 in a new location in the Cheviot Hills at Northumberland National Park. The format and elevation are virtually the same. There will be 44 laps of The Hill to Auchope Hut, with the  final lap up to the summit of Auchope Cairn to reach 160 miles in total. The cut-off time will remain at 48 hours. This edition will again have slightly more elevation than Shining Tor, but is very runnable and cannot be stopped in ANY weather conditions.

Again this will be EXTREMELY MENTALLY AND PHYSICALLY DIFFICULT in winter conditions and for HARDENED ULTRA RUNNERS ONLY.
